Thomas Bernard Anns

Age: 33

Sex: male

Date: 14 Dec 1959

Place: Wern Farm, Bangor, Wales

Thomas Bernard Anns was found lying against a wall at Wern Farm near Bangor on the night of Friday 11 December 1959.

He was taken to Anglesey General Hospital in Bangor but was found to be dead on arrival.

He was described as a well-built, 6ft tall man.

He was found by his sister with the aid of a torch at about midnight in a narrow twisting lane about 300 yards from the farm and had suffered from head injuries.

Wern Farm was noted as being on elevated ground about half-a-mile off the Bangor to Caernarvon Road.

He had lived and worked on the 80-acre farm for some years after moving there from York, but after holding a number of other jobs he had been unemployed for some time until a week before his death at which time he had got a job with a local timber concern.

The police later said that the post mortem had ruled out any suggestion that he had been knocked down by a motor vehicle.

It was reported that the police had questioned one person but that the person had later been released.
